RYAN PATRICK KELLEY
Ryan Patrick Kelley, a award winning filmmaker with a deep appreciation for storytelling, an aw for the visual thrill of cinema, and craving for making and creating, comes to you from the suburbs of Southern California.
Through VHS cassettes, Ryan’s love for movies revealed itself at a young age. His inspiration draws on the bold creativity, craftsmanship, and scope of 1980s and ‘90s popcorn flicks. Sparked by an obsessive of watching and re-watching films like Raiders of the Lost Ark it came at no surprise when he decided to start recreating them. Armed with his parent’s VHS camcorder (which he stole), his siblings as the cast and the family garage turned soundstage, he went to work.
As he grew older, Ryan explored other forms of performance, with a stint in the local community theater world, performing in one act plays in college as an actor, and, as of the last few years, testing his comedic chops in the standup comedy scene.
But beyond the camera, stage, and writing, and all the other pieces that it takes to pull off performative storytelling and filmmaking, Ryan’s love for adventure and travel seems to create a through-line. He seeks to explore the world through stories and food, characters, laughter and emotion, and meet new people, try new things, stretch his creative muscle.
Ryan has worked on a number of projects, ranging from the music videos, large scale social campaigns, narrative indies, and his own award winning short films.
